Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

Windows Logo To Colorado College students,

We wanted to make you aware of an exceptional offer from Microsoft – they are offering the ultimate version of Microsoft Office 2007 to students (verified with a valid college email address) for $60. It is legitimate and we highly recommend looking into it as the cheapest way to get the new version of Office 2007. Details can be found here: http://www.theultimatesteal.com/home.asp

Barnes PC lab open all night tonight (9/25)!

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

Windows Logo&Mac Dear Students,

For your computing needs as Block 1 ends, we will once again staff the Barnes PC Lab ALL NIGHT on Tuesday (today). Essentially, this means that the lab is available from 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, until 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

The west entrance to Barnes will be the only entrance available from midnight until 6:00 a.m., so be sure to use that door.

The Help Desk (Tutt Library 13; x6449) will be open and staffed by a full-time PC User Support Specialist until midnight. At that point, the Help Desk itself will close, and a different technician will be in Barnes 212 to staff the Barnes PC lab for the remainder of the night. Drop by or call if you have problems with disks, printing, applications, or lab computers.

Postini spam filter update and info on internet outage this afternoon

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

Windows Logo&Mac We had planned to create a Postini spam filter account for everyone today (after our original plan of Friday), but we’re going to hold off just a little longer. Postini is a 3rd party program hosted off-campus, and has been experiencing bad performance problems over the past several days – we are going to wait until they get those problems cleared up before doing the mass sign up.

We’re not sure when that will be, but likely within a few days – once we get everyone signed up, we’ll send out a message to let you know including instructions on how to use your new spam filter.

One additional note – many of you noticed we had an internet outage of about 20 minutes this afternoon. Time Warner, our Internet Service Provider, went down for that period today (much of the Springs was in the same boat we were), but luckily they responded quickly. =)

Let us know if you have any questions, and thanks for your patience!
