We have begun an exciting new ink cartridge / toner recycling program through our local printer maintenance company, TekSource.

Yesterday, we spread a number of large round bins to major buildings on campus (all the major dorms, plus Tutt Library, Barnes, Tutt Science, Armstrong, Worner, and Spencer – we’ll be distributing more of them next week to other buildings we missed in the first pass).   Look for the bins in computer labs or near other trash / recycling bins in those buildings.  Click the link below to see a picture of what they look like:

Simply bring any type of ink cartridge from any type of printer (or fax machine, copier, etc.) and set it in the bin.  When they get full, TekSource will pick them up and recycle the ink cartridges (if you notice one is extremely full, please call the number printed on the side of the bins for pickup).

We hope everyone will participate in this new program – it’s easier than mailing in old cartridges, and the college will also get a small amount of money back which we can invest into the purchase of printing supplies.  Please feel free to bring any and all ink cartridges (from home, from relatives, or from anywhere you notice ink cartridge injustice happening) to the TekSource bins at CC!
