2. If the control panel comes up in “Category” view, as seen below, then click “Switch to Classic View” in the upper lefthand corner. If your control panel is already in classic view, skip to step 3:

3. Double click the “Broadcom Wireless Utility” control panel:

4.
Make sure that “Enable Radio”, “Let this tool manage your wireless settings” and “Show wireless icon in systray” are checked. Click on “coloradocollege” in the available networks window, and then click “Configure.”

5.
Make sure that the “Network name (SSID):” is “coloradocollege”. Click on the dropdown menu for “Network Authentication” and select “Cisco Compatible ” from the list.

6.
Your screen should then look like this (with Cisco Compatible and CKIP selected). If so, click on the Authentication tab to continue.

7.
type your username and password in the boxes provided. Note that you should type your username in the following format: “coloradocollege\yourusername” and then your password as normal. Once you’ve entered this information, click “OK”

8.
coloradocollege should now be listed under “Preferred networks.” Click OK. Your computer will now connect to the wireless network.

8. Registering the Network Card:
After you have installed the HP Broadcom wireless adapter and configured the Utility, you must register the adapter’s Ethernet address (if you’ve already registered your wired connection, your wireless connection was registered at the same time so you don’t need to do this). Just open up your web browser and go to a website – you will be redirected to the registration page. Then follow the directions to register.
