Accessing Your Email Using Outlook Web Access’s (OWA) New Web Client

Microsoft Exchange is a user friendly email application. The exchange format makes it easy to read messages you’ve already sent or received, easy to type and correct new ones, and easy to move messages into various folders. Using the Web Access Client (OWA), you can access your email from any machine with an internet connection.

*Note* The increased security in Windows XP Service Pack 2 requires you to unblock pop-ups on the Outlook Web Access (OWA) website. To do this, open up Internet Explorer and select the Tools menu, then Internet Options. In the white box under ‘Address of Web site to Allow’ type securemail.coloradocollege.edu, and click the Add button. Click the Close button, and then click OK. You can now access OWA using Service Pack 2.

How to log onto Outlook Web Access

To log on to exchange, first open a Web Browser. Type “http://www.coloradocollege.edu/resources/email/” in the Address box (Internet Explorer) and press Enter. Alternately, you can click the “Check Email” link from the CC home page.

At the following screen, click the link after “Email web client”:

You may get a security warning - if so, click “Yes”:

You will then be asked to supply a username, and password. When you log in it should look like this:

*Note* Outlook Web Access will time out after a few minutes of inactivity — to significantly lengthen the period of time before it disconnects, choose “Private Computer” from the Security options.
