Anonymous FTP Access

Due to network storage limitations, you cannot send an attachment larger than 10 megabytes (MB) through the Colorado College email system. The Anonymous FTP server is a good way to share larger files, especially off campus.

Anonymous FTP Access Using Windows:

  1. Make sure you are using Internet Explorer 6 or above. To check your browser version, go to the Help Menu and select ‘About Internet Explorer’. (If you do not have the latest version, you can update it using Windows Update).
  2. Then, Click Here to log into the Anonymous FTP server.
  3. To upload a file, drag it from its current location into the Internet Explorer window. To download a file, drag it from the Internet Explorer window to a location on your computer or to your H: drive.

Anonymous FTP Access Using Mac OS X:

  1. Using the Anonymous FTP server with OS X requires third party software. Click Here to download one such program, called RBrowser. Be sure to note the installation instructions on the download page.
  2. Once the program is installed, go to the Finder, and double-click RBrowser in the Applications list.
  3. It will prompt you for a Host/URL. Type in file-exchange.coloradocollege.edu. Both the Username and the Password should be “anonymous”. Then click the Login button.
  4. To upload a file, drag it from its current location into the RBrowser window. To download a file, drag it from the RBRowser window to a location on your computer or to your H: drive.
