& Almost all CC employees and students receive a Digest message every morning at 6:00 AM. Any messages submitted to the Digests before approximately 5:45 AM will make it into the 6:00 AM Digest. If you forget to send a message to the Digest, we can occasionally release the Digest immediately (rather than waiting until the next morning). However, since that might disrupt others’ Digest messages, we generally wait until the Digest automatically posts the next day. If you want to send a FLASH message, please see the policy section below. Given the general relevance of a FLASH, it is important that all campus users read them and, therefore, that they be used sparingly.
- There are four separate primary Digests, one for students (STUDENT-L), one for faculty (FACULTY-L), one for staff (STAFF-L) and an Events digest that goes to everyone (EVENTS-L). If you want a Digest message to go out to everyone on campus, send it to the Events Digest, and not to the others. Please do NOT send personal messages (sales, houses for rent, jokes, etc.) to the primary Digests.
- To post a message to any of the Digests, Click Here and login with your CC username and password, then follow the onscreen instructions.
- When you post a message to one of the primary Digests, you will receive an email back asking to confirm your submission. (This prevents “accidental” Digest submissions.”) Click “Reply” on that confirmation request and type only the word OK in the reply. If you have anything else in the reply, the reply will not work properly. You can also click on the link at the bottom of the confirmation e-mail to confirm the message.
- The “secondary” Digest, (SALES-L) does not automatically go out to all campus users. You must subscribe or unsubscribe yourself (see the tip below for more information). Send any personal announcements only to these Digests. The Sales Digest does not require confirmation.
- All Digests are sent in plain text format. That means they don’t retain formatting like bold, italics, underlining, bullets, etc. Additionally, they cannot accept attachments. Submit only plain text messages to the Digests.
- All Digests are released at approximately 6:00 AM every day. If you want a message to go out on a particular day, send that message to the appropriate Digest(s) the previous day; if a message does not reach the Digest queue by at least 5:45 AM, it will not go out in that day’s Digest. Make sure to plan ahead regarding Digest messages!

How to Change Your Digest Subscriptions
Do you want to tell the campus about your car for sale or house for rent? On the other hand, are you on the Sales Digests but want to get off? To add yourself, send an email message to ” listserv@ColoradoCollege.edu ” from your account with nothing in the subject line and only “subscribe [Digest Name]” in the message body (i.e., “subscribe sales-l” or “subscribe staff-l”). To remove yourself, send a message to listserv@ColoradoCollege.edu with just “signoff [Digest Name] in the message body. If you would like assistance, send an email request to HelpDesk@ColoradoCollege.edu , and the Help Desk can add or remove you directly.
HELP DESK POLICY
“FLASH messages can be sent to the faculty, staff, and student lists at any time. These messages are sent out only for SECURITY reasons or to detail OUTAGES (computers, phones, water spouts, etc.) They are of immediate importance and should be read carefully by all.
